David C. Meadors, Senior Pastor
Dave was called to serve as Pastor of Broadus Memorial Baptist Church at the beginning of May 2009. Dave has a B.A. in Political Science from Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL (1990), and a J.D. from the University of Mississippi (1993.) Also, he received his Masters of Divinity from the George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University in 2000, and is currently working on his Ph.D. in Church-State studies at the J.M. Dawson Institute of Baylor University. His ministry interests include all aspects of pastoral ministry and he has a passion for a ministry of presence in addition to respectful dialogue with diverse world views. He is also concerned about religious liberty and the separation of Church and State as well as broader questions regarding the engagement between religion and politics. He is a student of the United States Supreme Court’s First Amendment Religion Clause jurisprudence, and enjoys reading about the early American republic as well as constitutional law. Other interests include a love for the game of golf, and hermeneutics. Dave and his wife Carrie are the parents of four children.

Margarete Gillette, Associate Pastor
Margarete was called as Minister to Children, Youth and Families in 1999 after four years volunteering as Minister to Youth. In 2006, she assumed the newly created position of Minister to Senior Adults and in 2008 was named Associate Pastor. She has a passion for creating a faith community that encourages, nurtures and supports people wherever they are in their journey of faith and their walk through life. Margarete has a B.A. in History, Furman University, M.R.E. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She is also employed by the City of Charlottesville, working on the reference staff at Northside Library. She and her husband, Tom, are the parents of three adult children. Contact Margarete.
Sheri Owen, Worship Director
Sheri joined the staff as interim worship director in 2006 and was asked to be permanent in 2007. Sheri directs the Chancel Choir and helps plan our weekly worship experiences. She brings an obvious and contagious joy and creativity to her ministry. Sheri and her husband Pat parent three children. Contact Sheri.
Lorie Spencer, Administrative Assistant
Lorie has been with the church since 1988. Hers is the friendly voice you’ll hear if you call the church. She takes care of scheduling and keeps the staff running. Lorie is the parent of two adult daughters. If you need anything, please give her a call. Contact Lorie.
Bob Wheeler, Senior Singers Musical Director
Bob has been the director of the Senior Singers for over 20 years. Now Bob leads the musical for the Senior Singers. Bob brings musical expertise and a love for the church and the Senior Singers. Contact Bob.
Al Crabb, Custodian
Al joined the staff in 2006 and helps set up and arrange tables and chairs for church events. Al also does small jobs around the church. He’s a valuable asset for his consistent and faithful work around the church building. Contact Al.
